La Musique et le Roman

Je suis femme écrivain.
I am a writer and no one will stop me.
I will rise above all odds, an awesome wave.
I will divide and conquer (Q.What else does that?).
I am a writer and my books will stand like proud soldiers, fluttering on paper wings and not midst the sea of cyberspace.

My friends are musicians and they are about to rock your world. (I would add a tsunami joke, but that's tsu inappropriate, isn't it? Honhonhon.)

MY FEATURED FRIEND OF THE FOREVER:

Alaina Krakowiak

Every art this girl has touched contains a certain finesse, a secret, a mystery sauce. Individuality more than you've ever seen before.

She has the most concentrated talent I have ever seen.
Even more than "man who can hang 50 pounds from his ears"
And "woman who can smash cans with her volumptuous breasts."
I mean, damn, I'm so prouud to he graced by her friendship! (so proud there's even an extra "u.")
If you don't get my immediate point, then I shall continue with my infinite string of badly thought out simi-phors.
...
Haha. Not really. I have to conserve them for use later. Stand up comedy or something... yeah...
...
Because I know the only one who reads the written/opinionated-non-crochet patterns is me, I'll inform you all (read: me) on her new endevor--
Musical production.
She (modestly) played her music from an iPod one day as we were chill-axin (my diction!) in her chic room.
It started off with how many layers--- 16?
It was haunting and enchanting and fascinating and delicious (delicious!).
I never said this aloud, fore my mouth was perpetually stuck open and probably drooling in bewonderment, but.... "Now damn. I'd tap that."
Please. Please. (PLEASE!) Check out this budding internet star so in the future, you may say, "I saw her first!!!"

She's done covers.
She has her own album.
Singles, no prob. (I've been promising to put this here forever, so now one's been created. And it's beautiful.)
In her newest single, Starlight, her voice is so tender, comforting, and an all-over encompassment of what it means to be home .
I can't wait to hear what else this prolific artist has for us!

With love to Alaina who secretly knows this is all true,

Kayla the also-awkwardly-budding-author. <3

You can access all of her music here: http://alainakrakowiak.bandcamp.com
Best part, it's all completely free to download.
(But she'd appreciate any donations toward her music career.)
I'll add more comments pertaining to each song at a later time.
^ (I don't even know what I wrote, this is from a few months ago, because I, my good sirs and dames, am a procrastinator.)

ANSWER: Bacteria. <3
The heart is totally optional. I put it there for the pizazz.

Insight into the pod-people

*sits down in a ballet style, grinding to the beat, waving arms like swatting mosquitos*

"Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars...
I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now...."

I know I promised that I'd never fall victim to the music the "populars" worship, but I can't help but like "Airplanes" by B.o.b. (almost started crying!). I've always liked music that's a synthesis of Alternative and Rap. I'm not a fan of rap, but like this, it fits perfectly. Same with "Hero (Red pill mix)" curtesy of Superchick.

Still, I don't understand pod-people. Even though I am now one of them.
*GASP!*
.....
Not really, I kind of like using my brain.

Right now, I'm here to talk about this terror above all terrors-- something worse than "Beiber Fever".
We've all gotten our vaccinations, so I believe it's fine to move onto something slightly less scarring but a whole heck of alot scarier.

Yeah, that.
We all know what I'm talking about- the dumbasses who frolic around school singing only songs that their leaders have approved (which are usually found on one of the top 10 iTunes lists- how original) wearing advertisments plastered to their butts or chests (abrozombie and witch, tommy hillbillyfinger, and ect.).

It's probably been like this since the beginning of time.

But it's only been recently that people have begun to fight back in the form of:

Alternative music
Hot topic
Parodies of popular movies/songs (Weird Al Yankovic, Scary movie, Vampires Bite -recent-)
Birth control
Common sense.

Come on people!! It's not that difficult to combat!!
------

(Have to go soon, let the ferrets out, highschool info night, too)

Awww, look at my manly Romeo soaking up the camera light~! <333

Here's an adorable shot of my dog, Penny.

(I PROMISE that I didn't stage this.
My dad was walking/hobbling down the stairs when he showed me THIS!)

One last thing....

J-U-H-I S-E-Z H-I!

My Noob Powers Are Tingling Once Again

I was listening to a song by Creed....
And I kinda misinterpreted some of the lyrics.

"Wool. Oh, wool.
The only way is wool.

Wool. Oh, wool.
The only way is wool.

I feel angry. I feel helpless.
Wanna change the world, yeah.
I feel vile lint. I feel aloe.
Don't try to change my mind, no.

Society blinded by color why,
I hold out wool to reason over
Discimination, I want both sides
Seeds of hate
Well I suck vernor!"

......
The song's called "One". Here are the real lyrics, lol.

"One, oh one,
The only way is one

One, oh one,
The only way is one

I feel angry I feel helpless
Want to change the world
I feel violent I feel alone
Don't try and change my mind

Society blind by color
Why hold down one to raise another
Discrimination now on both sides
Seeds of hate blossom further."

Well. I was close.
Kinda.

Just listen to it yourself!! XDDD
Good night everyone!
(concert AGAIN tomorrow at rocketown. Nevershoutnever!)

Un-Winter Worries

I'm beginning to get twitchy, mah loffs.
I started with about five readers and a few random visitors to my bloggity blog.
Started with.
Instead of increasing or staying the same....
I'm down to me, myself, and some person who isn't commenting!
Do you want me to stop?
.....
You sicken me.
.....
If NOT, leave a comment or/and respond to the poll so I know how many people are tuning in. (totally anonymous)
I have this AMAZING trip to New Orleans that I wish to share with you guys!
Here's the catch:
Only if I get 6 poll replies (we're at 2) or 5 comments from 5 different people!
Please show me you care!!!
---------
And now for the featured presentation!
---------
Enter the world of Sam and Grace.
Human and wereworlf.
Warm and cold.
Summer and winter.
All it takes
Is a shiver.

Okay, okay, away with the sales pitch yee maties! My pirate's a little rusty. Just like my hook. Ar, ar, arr!!

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater isn't the average wolf story- So you're safe whether or not you put up with the Twilight Saga.
I'm about a third through this book- and I adore it. (If anyone's familiar with The Book, then you'll get the layout of this story done in dual perspectives.) Other reviewers said around 1/2 this book is filler, but it's all interesting, fitting together piece by piece. I don't want to reveal too much about this book- excepta few factors that determine everything.
Temperature. And a bond.
On the book, it said somethnig about how they would save each other. I'm awaiting how. There's even a second book out!!
I'm totally psyked (shut up! I'm too lazy to check myself!!!) to see how everything's going to play out.
Because it's Sam's last year.
-----
Just In: (7:45 pm)
Katherine, my perverted and lovable book sleuth, said that she read the book at the beginning of the school year.
And it was a flop.
Good. Getting better. Then downhill.
What a disappointment, my dearies.

But don't you worry your pretty little heads-- I'll find out on my own and finish my book review.
Alrighty?
----------------

EPPPPPPPPPPP!!!
Oh, yeah, I finished the TAIL of my scarf.
God, this is going to take FOREEEEEEEVER!!
----
Tomorrow, (4/11), I'm going to another Rocketown concert!!! (last one I went to was Killswitch engage, The Devil Wears Prada, and some swedish band that was somethin Darkness.)
I'm going for another band my brother introduced me to--- ARTIST VS. POET!!
The lineup is in no particular order here:
Artist vs. Poet
The Maine--- //I like their lyric: Well, I'll state something rash/ she had the most amazing/ smile/ I bet you didn't expect that// lolA! (Into Your Arms)
We the Kings
Stereo Skyline
Cartel
And I think that's it!

Like I said, soooo excited! WHAT A WEEK!
Remember--- REPLY REPLY!!

The Always anxious Kayla-chan

Who Let The Cats Into The Mall?!? // WHO? WHO? WHO??

It all starts with the Alice In Wonderland "party" at hottopic (my favorite store).
Well, before then--- it starts with going home with the infamous Alaina, where we got ready and made our Cheshire cat masks. [hers purple, mine gray]
While at the mall, we put them on-- and left them on.
For TWO HOURS OF AMAZINGNESS. Guess who's going to the mall with masks next time?
---
Things we did:
Had an epic staredown with satan. Okay, a satan-masked kid. Guess who won?
None other than us, da kittie cats.
It lasted for about five minutes, the dude standing completely still and us, naturally, giggling.
The showdown only ended when his friend pulled down his hood (which pissed him off, btw.)

2. Went to the party.
Which was basically empty... It kinda sucked...
But I got free trading cards for guessing on a random trivia question!
Jonny Depp has appearantly starred in 7 Tim Burton movies. Who knew?

3. Made people disapprove of us.
"Weird. Wierd. Weird."

4. Amused people.
"KITTIES!! KITTIES!!" "AHAHAHEHEAHEAHAHEHA!!"  <-- (old ladies)

5. Wreaked havoc on the kiddie toys.
Evidence:

As you can imagine, this was fun.
Very, VERY FUN!

Oh, and here's some odd lady with a shopping cart.

Please explain this, because I'm baffled.
Your mission: make a CREATIVE reason why she's towing around a shopping cart and if I like it, I will feature it in my blog? Got it? GET THINKIN'!
---------
MOOZEEK

I got some new stuff. XDDD
Soooo, be sure to check them out, they're worth your time. Promise. (I'm runnin outta time 'ere)

The Used- Lies for the Liars
The Used- The Used
The Devil Wears Prada- Plagues (Going to the concert in March @ Rocketown)
Alesana- The Emptiness (thanks again, Lainers)

Until next time,

Lion(ess)... Cat... Thing.

Now, without further adue, I'll present round one of: FRIENDS' FEUD!!
According to our readers.... Their favorite thing to write with is----- No, scratch that.
SURVEY SAYS: The computer! [ ^-^ ]
Pencil: One
Pen/ Marker: A big, fat ZERO
Computer: Five
It got my vote. An infinite eraser is absolutely heavenly. ABSOLUTELY HEAVENLY.... *froths*
Pens are for devil worshippers and Hitler. Heil!
---------
No worries, a new poll will be up shortly.
---------
In the world of crocheting:
I'm making a kitty cat thing.
A day's efforts left me with this--- vuala! A head of sorts!
Is it just me or does this thing look menacing!? I meant for it to be terribly cute, but now I'm just worried. Very worried. And it's supposed to be a cat, but I see more of a lion cub. What do you see?
(Look at the hanging SPINAL CORD!!)

I'll post the site when I'm finished--
the pattern's absolutely FREE!! <(O.O<)
If I ever get the time, I'd love to make a whole spectrum of these guys. Wouldn't black be adorable?? And cherry blossom pink? Ahhhh!

--------
I said that I'd post pictures of my brothers, so here I go!!!!!!

This is Randy with his girlfriend, Samantha.
Gotta love those man-boobs. (hee hee)
He's not my favorite brother or anything. I'd never pick favorites... Yeah... Right....
*cough, I'm a horrid liar*.
Well, when I'm not trying. The other half of the time, I crack up laughing.

Voice: Epic fail.

What are you talking about?! It's not a dead givaway...

Voice: Uh, huh.... What are you talking 'bout, retard?

Voice in my head, don't make me get out the q-tips!!

*crickets*
They'll eat your soul.........
Okay, ew. Seriously.
Onto my next brother, Bryan and his wife, Lacy, of several years. I say several 'cause I'm not counting. For sure. He's okayish- and I still cried for him when I saw him. Of course. But he's 13 years older than me (compared to Randy's 11) and we were never that close. Never have been. Do the math! And honestly, I hate math. With brio. And lots of it. When I was three, he was sixteen/ seventeen.
My most fond memory of him is when one day, I woke up "late" at night, my parents out to dinner. Randy was at friend's house, or at least he wasn't home- and I was crying, terrified. I found him (Bryan) downstairs watching t.v.; he shared his puffy cheetos with me. How touching.
------------
Moozeek Tyme!
A bit of my favorite stuff right now (and for the past few weeks) is Evanescence.
Here's a free link to their music-- Playlist Presents Evanescence!
I'm drawn to them by Amy Lee's haunting vocals, the piano's subtle chords, the whispering, the environment, the world they create--- everything!
They're 0% pop, 100% awesomeness. Their songs are very sad, though- well most of them are- and easily relatable, well, unless you're one of those obsessively happy people. In that case, this music isn't for you. One. Bit.

Another thing that makes me love them all the more are their album covers. They have life. They have death. They're not empty pictures portrying some vain teen who got dumped by their boyfriend. Or a man's John Deere tractor. These are the struggles of real people, thoughts, and feelings. These are the truth. Here's a few that I love:
Favorite songs would have to be a toughey. When I look for these, I think about replayability, vocals, background/ atmosphere, and lyrics. These are Evanescence's strong points. ^-^

Kayla's Picks:
Missing (Anywhere But Home)
Fav. song when I was 7: Bring Me To Life (Fallen)
My Immortal (Fallen)
Hello (Fallen)
The classic: Call Me When You're Sober
etc.

// And more to come, but I happen to be poor and haven't listened to them all, anyways.//

I appreciate all those who take their time to read my musings. Seriously. Honestly. Completely. Definitely. And anything else which might hold the same meaning. I'm too lazy to get a thesaurus.

DINOSAUR POWER!!
*Insert fancy theme song here*

Choice Numbah Uno
Number Two
Threeeeee!
Four Mah Homies

I'm done now....
And to whatever you say or will ever say:
I did NOT just get off-topic.

Okay.... Maybe just a 'lil.

Until next time, mah dearies:
Arrivederci ('til we meet again)
